Their store is working mostly alright for me. I’m able to browse it just fine. The only issue I’m having is it won’t sign into my account... I better not get screwed here damnit.

The PS4 is not that powerful really. It doesn’t even meet the minimum spec for either the Vive or Oculus by far. Plus look at the current games out for it. It struggles to maintain 60fps, so how will maintain a smooth 90fps let alone 120fps (which seem to be the framerates they are targeting). A consistent framerate

I researched that a lot, and from what I understand you don’t need to wear your glasses when wearing the headset I thought. I wear glasses, so that was an important thing to me.

Out ofcuriosity, which Oculus headset did you try, because there were major changes from even DK2 to the final customer unit. The DK2 was fairly similar to the PSVR’s spec, but the customer models for the Oculus are big improvement on what the PSVR offers. I’m just curious. Plus, my reservations are more about the PS4

Exactly. PSVR will be what gets VR to the masses, which will encourage developers to add VR support to games. I’m excite for the whole VR genre. I just hope it doesn’t bomb, because that would suck.

There is no need to be rude. I’m trying to have a civil discussion. I respect your opinion, the least you can do is respect mine. Then again this is the internet, maybe that is too much to expect.

The FOV is a comfort issue more than a preference. The lower FOV means that I will be able to use it for longer periods of time, and even the Oculus’ FOV will give me a headache after a while. In the end, they are going to offer pretty much the same experience. I’ve also heard reports that the most people prefer the

Oh, I’m excited for it. I’ll be getting it and the Oculus, I’m just concerned if it will be able to truly compete.

There are only two respects where they differ, other than the sensor, the field of view and weight. The Oculus is lighter, which is a big plus, for me at least. The other is the Field-of-View, which is more of a personal preference. I do not do well with wide FOVs. It tends to hurt my eyes, so the smaller FOV is

Actually it would be just two viewports (cameras) offset from each other. That is a lot easier than two completely separate scenes rendering simultaneously. It is still harder as it has to rasterize (translate 3D Geometry to 2D Screen-Space) both viewports, but it is only rendering each scene once. It is still extra

It has the better sensor I’ll admit, but the Oculus matches or beats it in every other regard. However, the Vive is meant for Room Space VR. You are meant to be up and moving about for it, and I just don’t have the room to do that (there is literally like 3 or 4 feet between my computer desk and bed). The cost and

Only if you look at cost. The Oculus will be better for in-place VR, while the Vive is meant for Room Space VR. I don’t have that kind of room, so the Oculus makes more sense. The Oculus is better in every respect except the sensor, and that doesn’t matter as I will only be doing stationary VR.

That lower resolution is one of the reasons I’m not sure the visual fidelity will cut it. With a screen that close to your screen you need a significantly high Pixel Density, the higher the better. I’m sure they will optimize the games, but the PS4 can barely maintain 60fps now, how will it manage 90fps or even 120fps

I don’t know. I’m still not convinced that the PS4, even with an external processing box, will be able to drive the kind of visual fidelity necessary to make VR enjoyable. I think the Oculus will be the definitive VR experience, while Playstation VR will be the one to help introduce new people to VR. It is two

To be fair, I have never really cared about trophies. The only game I’ve ever gotten platinum (or every achievement for) was Final Fantasy XIII-2, and that was just braindead easy. Until I had tried the 60fps fix, I was playing ToZ on both PS4 and PC. The aliasing killed me on the PS4, but when I was sitting a decent

The trophies are just Steam achievements. Same thing really, especially since Playstation Home no longer exists and you can’t show them off. Plus Steam has the Steam Trading Cards. ToZ is the first game I even bothered with them. :)

Can’t say I’m surprised. They probably need some more time to optimize the game on PS3. I saw the recent PS3 to PS4 comparison, and the PS4 version was considerably better looking, especially out in the world and on close ups of the characters (look at the aliasing on the hair). I hope that extra time is towards

Really? The PS4 didn’t have nearly as many framerate dips and looks much better than the PS3 version for me. I mostly played on PC anyways, so maybe I just didn’t get far enough in the PS4 version to tell. After the 60fps fix and the ability to force some real Anti-Aliasing, there was no reason to even touch the PS4

Weird, for me it has never said anything other than Early 2016 for me whenever I check.

I know, it just doesn’t feel that way. It is probably just because I’m getting old. I guess I should really buckle down and beat the Ruby and Sapphire remakes.
