Personal favourite was Garrus' 'I'll f*ck you under the table'. Absolute poetry. Now to go replay the trilogy.
Yeah, I agree with you on Sworcery, always felt like there should be more to it. I never finished it as well because you had to wait out for certain moon phases before you could play areas. I personally thought that was ridiculous.
When I said hitting a wall I meant with graphics :P. Like with this demo here. Cool new features, but they're small compared to previous changes in graphics engines.
True, but Steam set the precedent, you can't play Valve games on any platform, so I think it's unfair to blame EA for following suit. Obviously I hate the idea of buying games from different places as well though, so it's not like I don't understand the annoyance.
Oh I know right, that's far more exciting than graphics, we're hitting a wall now where every feature that's added just isn't that noticeable. One of these days a game will come out that will make people realise how much we need great physics like that. You could make so many great games with those physics. *JIZZ*.
You say that, but you're effectively saying no-one should compete with Steam. Yes, I would also prefer if I could get everything on Steam, but I also feel like trying to punish companies for competing is unfair and probably counter-productive. If Origin ever gets to a stage where it can breathe down Steam's neck,…
You make a good point. I've never been to New York but I'm sure I know it like the back of my hand after all the games I've played with it as a setting. Tbf, Fallout New Vegas gave us California, Mass Effect 3 did FUTURE London (although personally being from the UK I don't find that particularly interesting either.
Crysis 2 was goddamned awful. Especially the story, I mean it felt like they tried to keep core themes like Prophet and the suit, but really changed most other things, even all the aliens suddenly looked different :S. At least it looked nice. And I'm not one of those people who thinks Crysis 2 looks worse, I can at…
Yeah I agree, I mean the misconception has been great for investment in these projects, but I'm worried one of these days a project will go wrong and most everyone will stop investing, thinking that that was unfair and not what they put their money down for :/.
I am at University, and believe me when I say students and people my age just love using Facebook, but not really Google+. I have 7 friends detected from my e-mail and Facebook, and I have 400 friends on Facebook and obviously others on my e-mail, so it's not for a lack of people in the first place. Of these 7 people,…
What makes you say Facebook will implode? Just interested ;).
Sounds really interesting. This comment section is literally the first I've heard of people using G+ like this. Honestly know no-one in real life who properly uses it. Crazy stuff, I'll have to go check it out, thanks :).
Hm, interesting stuff. Looks like my original example falls flat on its face XD. Ah well, he was a great man by all means :). Thanks for giving me a bit of information for the braintank, apologies for my earlier skepticism, although obviously it's perfectly warranted on the internet.
Gabe has said a lot of things and changed his mind though. The guy changes his mind a lot. And that's not necessarily a bad thing - he constantly is re-evaluating the gaming space and where his company fits in (which shows). Still, I hope he does stick by this opinion :).
How do you know he never considered himself an artist? In any case, his engineering was art mixed with science, and he undoubtedly did do art based on interesting observations he made of his environment. How can the art simply be a 'byproduct' if he went out his way to make it?
See, I don't understand this thinking at all.
Totally agreed. I play lots of entertaining games that improve on old concepts. But almost none that have truly original core ideas. YES, those games are nearly completely 'brain-dead', but people take this dismissal as a personal sleight against them from Blow. He's simply not mincing his words. He thinks new stuff…
What about Leonardo Da Vinci? That guy put a fuckton of thought into everything he did, being a bit of a philosopher, and that includes his art. If people were around to interview him, who says he wouldn't have said the same things?
I'd claim the same, I don't see how he is pretentious at all. It feels like some kind of attempted divide between gamers - people who don't enjoy these indie, artsy games and are fine with the games they already enjoy probably resent being told new is better. It's more of a battle against liberal and conservative…
