I think we’re a ways off, but if they can get a form-factor more like glasses I could see this being a reality.
Agreed!
AR would certainly help... but I just don’t see people spending as much time with a headset on as they do sitting in front of a screen where they can easily pause, grab a drink, help the kids, let the pets out, etc.
My brother-in-law, who makes very little money (around $35k/yr.) managed to afford a Quest 2. The idea that you need to be wealthy to own one is misguided at best.
He has, but he’s done it indirectly in order to give himself cover because he’s a shitlord.
Discord does make money. While anyone can start a server for free, you can also ‘boost’ the server for a monthly/annual fee to improve it’s service, i.e. better audio or video streaming quality, custom flair/stickers/etc., and other things.
“I don’t know how to fix the issue, but there needs to be solution that allows people to debate and seek information”
Yes, let’s keep pretending that half of the people on Twitter aren’t bots... lol.
Maybe it’s time we accept that A) We don’t need to shout at the world, and B) The world isn’t listening anyway.
To be fair, he’s never needed for anything in his life... I probably wouldn’t worry about money either if I’d never had less than several million dollars to my name.

This. Their whole goal is to gain entry into any space progressives occupy, and then harass them. It has nothing to do with any specific app, they just can’t tolerate being denied service.
I don’t think the main concern is that Musk is going to turn it into a conservative dumpster (although it’s certainly a concern for some people), just that he’s not someone that they trust or are comfortable supporting in any capacity... and this was obviously done FOR conservatives (specifically to build goodwill…
3090 Ti isn’t really a gimmick either, it’s just grossly overvalued for being marginally better performance than a 3090, which has marginally better performance than a 3080 Ti.
Motion controls are found all over the damn place now. Hell, I control my television with a motion control remote. Is your suggestion that it was a gimmick and now it’s run out of favor, or it was a gimmick, but now it’s an accepted input method?
I think that was true until the Quest 2 came along, and it’s become a lot more affordable (which was coupled with a ton of new adopters over last winter holiday season).
This is the congressional equivalent of waiting until half your house has burned down before trying to rally the neighborhood to debate the merits of adding smoke detectors.
