It's pretty clear Russia has lost the support of the public when John Q. starts tearing them down.

Facts? I read about the "facts." From international sources, and reliable US ones. I made a choice to read from Canadian sources, because they truly seemed unbiased about the issue. The facts I read there, laid out clearly, show that the cops botched it. Period.

Yes, they did. The police were the ones who initially suggested that it was a black man.

There's been a few articles on both Gawker and Jezebel on Amanda Knox in the last couple days, and I'm genuinely surprised at how many people think she's guilty. And I'm even more surprised that the reason they think she is guilty is because of a "gut feeling." Very odd.

yeah, you're ignorant. read a bit on the history of the case before you start making unfounded and flat out stupid statements.

So you took issue with a website that has Without Airbrushing in its tagline for pointing out an instance of airbrushing?

Europe is worse.

Man, you see something like this and you can barely believe that we fought with them in WW2.

"I'm not sure why people freak out so much when this happens in other countries when we have equally horrific things that happen in the US."

Got any facts to back up that statement? I really doubt it...

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to demand something so specific. That's not my intention at all. But do you really disagree that she responded 'it happens in the US' to a very specific concern and then couldn't back up the claim? That's what annoyed me. At the very least we're both assholes, since the response to my 'really'

Sure! Everyone knows that in the US during the 1950s it was common for women to be gang-raped to death on city buses while the police just shrugged. Uh...no.

Listen, the OP was horrified that this happened to a woman in a place she referred to as 'tourist central' it would stand to reason that the location combined with the nature of the crime is what made it so shocking. You replied that it happens in the US too and have yet to come up with a recent example of a similar

Where's the gang rape part? You suck at this.

So then no? You're just kind of equivocating for no reason? I'm pretty sure women in India are raped 'while trying to get a college education' as well.

Does it? Tourists get gang-raped when hanging out in high-volume, touristy areas in the middle of the day? Does it really? Gang rape in Times Square?

Really? In the 1950s, a 51 year-old women asking for directions in a popular shopping district of major US cities could expect to be gang-raped? Oh please tell us more about the 1950s!

But are you saying that Lawrence hasn't earned anything? Compare her to another person of white privilege like say... Paris Hilton. Paris Hilton first became famous being a socialite and getting to trouble and sex tapes, etc. I don't care about Hilton one way or another, or how she got famous — but that's a pretty

Dude, Jennifer Lawrence is great. She's an amazing actress and has a wonderful personality. Lupita should be getting more roles, I absolutely agree - but we don't have to take down one great woman to bring up another.

Canada actually has constitutional protections for Aboriginals and visible minorities. It also protects language rights. None of this is perfect and the presence of res schools was a terrible part of far-too-recent Canadian history but I don't think you can say that Canada is worse than the US or Australia in terms
