I can try to provide some context:)

Latchkey kid in the late 80's into the early 90's, young X-er here. I like you, don’t get playdates and such, but I saw the shift happen while I was still a young teen and babysitting. I made the comment on the Satanic Panic article, this has a lot to do with the big increase in women working outside the home and

I think you misread that - he was saying that adults don't need a child's help to look for their lost puppy or determine which kind-of candy was the best.

Could you imagine be a 56(!!!!) year old, dating someone almost 30(!!!!!!) years your junior, and being the “young guy” in her love life? Good god the pretty people are not like us.

Also, how many of these missing kids, were white? That makes a difference. I recall while living in central Florida, some pretty white girl went missing, and it was all the news could talk about for weeks. I’m certain multiple minority children who had gone missing, never got that sort of media attention.

It’s also not a coincidence that stranger danger coincided with the rise of women in the workplace, starting in the late 1970s. What better way to shame a working mom than scaring the shit out of her with kidnapped children stories!

During another time, I might be inclined to agree. It looks like an amazing trip. However, we’re in a pandemic in which the public has been asked to shelter in place so as not to risk infecting others or their community. People have lost jobs and 200,000 people are dead.

What does love have to do with celebrity relationships?

Oh yay, we’re playing whataboutism. Love is love is not about celebrity couples, who do very well indeed have a history of PR stunt, mutually beneficial relationships. Read about Rock Hudson’s biography for starts.

I thought they had been engaged for several months and were about to break up. Now that they finally are engaged, I eagerly await the break up a month before the wedding.

I wonder if this still works because I’m pretty sure that I saw Amy Coney Barrett consorting with the devil out in the woods the other day.

Is that so much an idea as it is a literal fact? Money’s definitely not real, it’s one of those things we collectively imagine is real, like limited liability companies, the catholic church and human rights. If we all woke up tomorrow and stopped imagining, all of those things would just disappear completely.

I’m just so puzzled by the logistics of the Lily & Dominic photos. Did they truly not notice they were being photographed? But there are SO MANY PICTURES! From so many different places! Did they think it didn’t matter because their faces were hidden by masks SOME of the time? When the KStew / married director

Twifa is great. Just call her by her middle name if they prefer until/unless she wants to own it, 18 years of free WiFi. Fucking right I'd do it.

Exactly the point I wanted to make, but far better than I could. This article was so US centric it made my French teeth hurt.

“One party wants to destroy minorities and grind them into dust, the other doesn’t - neither party truly represenrs me.”

So, I generally agree with your premise, and he does smack of somebody that just doesn’t like to dig deeper than if it inconveniences him. You know, general white privilege. I have one qualm with this, though:

Yes. The question of whether or not “he’s a Republican” feels like the wrong question. What people seem to mean when they ask that in 2020 is, “is he a pro-Trump bigot,” literally a white nationalist or a fascist, which I don’t think Chris Pratt is.

Nothing like wanting more kids when you’re going to spend half the year away from home filming and doing media tours. They must also be extremely good at finding fertile young women who don’t mind co-parenting with a nanny.

Katherine Schwazeneggar’s mother is, of course, a non-entity who could have had no influence on the political opinions of her daughter. Why would a woman matter?
