The burden of proof for a criminal, felony charge is extremely, extremely high. Not only must it be unanimous, but the jury must conclude that the evidence is beyond a shadow of a doubt.

My guess is that they deadlocked on that one, and ultimately went with not-guilty via deciding go with the other charges they did…

They evidently still had “reasonable doubt” about those charges. Hard to know why without jurors coming forward.

I know he wasn’t convicted on the two counts of predatory sexual assault that could have landed him in prison forever, but I am very happy he can now be called a ‘convicted rapist’ instead of an ‘alleged rapist’.
