Just plan on not working past 60. If you manage to, congrats, you’re one of the fortunate few in a space where companies are becoming less and less likely to keep on staff long-term.

Wait, what now? What exactly do I need to do to avoid this unfortunate situation?
I feel much the same way about work. I can’t imagine ever NOT working on something. Now, whether or not that thing will make me money is a completely different question. That’s part of the reason I have a career that currently keeps me gainfully employed, but the problem there is that someday it may be difficult to…
It looks like choreographed no-contact fighting but without the deliberate cinematography to keep it from being blatantly bad. It feels like she hardly makes contact with her targets!
Started a family really young and while still in college and just recently got a job that offers 401k matching. I’m going to take advantage of that along with the Roth IRA I set up earlier this year, all within months of turning 31. Definitely feeling like I took too long, I have friends who started saving a decade…
Yeah, not buying three copies of this game and convincing my wife to join in just to play it with my kid. Two copies I probably could have justified, but this is stupid, Nintendo.
But we probably won’t find out about Glenn next week because of what the next episode seems to be about. I think they’re going to keep us waiting.
I don’t know why that movie just didn’t do it for me. What I loved about the first Godzilla film was how smart it was, how full of commentary and restraint. Pacific Rim kind of reminded me of watching 8 year olds play with robots.
Best of luck with everything! I’ve enjoyed a lot of your work at Kotaku, I know you’ll do well in the future.
While the quick rinse in water will remove the salt, I honestly see this as a problem. Most situations where you want to have apples not oxidizing involve having them out for people to just pick up and eat. If everyone has to rinse their apples, that’s pretty lame.
Yes, having a dedicated remote makes controlling your in-progress films WAY easier to control. But I just hate that the remote for everything else these days. I’m so much faster and happier looking something up on my phone and then casting it, and the Chromecast is amazing at this.
I’ve never thought of using a Roth IRA to save for future expenses. So would it make sense for me to start using my Roth IRA to hold money I’m saving for a down payment on a house? Is there a downside I’m mising?
Was it? Do you REALLY believe it was REALLY mistranslated? Erisu can be translated either way, and they went with Aeris because Aerith sounds WEIRD AS CRAP in English. Localization choices with names that end in -su are translated like this all the time, and because someone at Square bought into the unfounded fan…
Don’t let your dreams be dreams!
I understand that, and I still think it’s horribly executed. They need to go straight digital, allow me to download each of the titles to my system, and share content between them. Share playsets between them. At that point, all the assets would be there. Hell, I would even settle for NOT being able to use the…
Doesn’t DropBox already do this with File Requests?
I’ve felt like Telltale is great at doing facial animations... but somehow always has TERRIBLE animation sync and flow when characters speak. It always feels off to me. Has it gotten better?
Wait, when you said “ugly 3D-2D” graphic nonsense I immediately thought, “Yeah, we can skip those ugly SNES graphics”, but apparently you meant the pretty 3D graphics that weren’t mushed into sprites...
I’m actually excited that Nintendo has been going back to the basics. There was so much about good design that was kind of lost in the transition OUT of 2D gaming that we are FINALLY getting good at (Arkham games, for example) and I think that Nintendo focusing on games like this is pretty awesome.
Never really liked iTunes. The interface was huge and over complicated and the thing always used way too much memory. Simple and straight forward was the way to go and back in the day that was Winamp and when that tried to be more like iTunes I basically stuck with I think version 3.95 until I ditched all that desktop…
