I'm not saying that there is a perfect approach to all translation, but that there is always a good approach to take on the overall localization that will occur for a single project. I know a thing or two about this :P Language is complex, but that should NEVER be an excuse for a game translation. There are good

Thanks for the tip. I just barely got a 3DS (didn't have a DS), so I'm definitely going to have to check that out.

It's interesting to see how many artifacts from the source language a translation can really carry over. It's frustrating, really. I am still waiting for a game that was originally in Japanese that makes me play it and think, "Wow, was this really originally in Japanese?!" because of how well localized it is. As

Bah, this makes me really frustrated. Part of me feels like the problem here is a localization one, and I really, really want to pick the game up and look into that further.

Yeah, that's a good point. There are several skills that feel worthless in general :P I suppose it isn't all lost, though. Everyone will end up using the same half a dozen builds and that will be that.

"Frankly I question whether or not PvP can work at all in a top-down perspective game like this."

From what I understand, it's because Tolkien mentions quite a few events that are related to or directly influence the story of The Hobbit in sources other than The Hobbit itself, and some of these happened to involve women. The book itself is, as far as I remember, devoid of female characters, but Tolkien has a lot

Saw the film this morning. I wasn't bothered at all about the framerate, but found the 3D irritating. Didn't add a single thing to the film experience for me. I'm going to see it again without the 3D as a follow up.

I hope DOTA 2 all the success in the world. It's an awesome product, really, it is. A part of me, though, feels like it is too steeped in the old ways of the "MOBA" genre. I've loved moving beyond some of the really odd and janky mechanics that were dropped from LoL, such as denying and running all over to different

Well, admittedly, I was hoping someone would get the Homebrew Channel running on it so I'd be able to wire the usb port to a hdd bridge to load games from a small hdd or something along those lines.

DANG IT! I was wanting to get my hands on one of these to use for a handheld Wii project. The slightly shorter main board and the chance for more energy efficient and cooler components really made me excited for what this could do. But the lack of component support kills that idea for me. I wanted it to output 480p,

So... isn't it about time that changed?

Only true solution: Wii U Controller jacket, just like the ones they made for Wii Remotes.

It seems it's a generational problem. Looks like the video editor learned their video editing skills and picked up their music tastes online during the late 90s.

Humor always has its limits. It was pretty funny what you said, though. ^_^

I know you're trying to be funny, but a child is dead, and being funny about it is pretty disrespectful. Even crass humor should have its limits.

Wow, you have a really good point. That was horrible.

I care a lot about the ideas behind Ubuntu, but to be honest, I thought it would have accomplished a great deal more in the way of user experience by this point.

It might just be that people no longer want to use a shared device like a television to play games anymore. With how many devices have high quality screens these days, I sometimes wonder if people even have any many televisions in the home as they once did.

I really want to know what kinds of games are coming out for phones in Japan. The market here is full of all kinds of titles that are not interesting to me in the least, but perhaps there are titles that are only really known in Japan that we have no connection to.
