Wait, what the hell is a "winter finale"? Fringe just came back on air a few weeks ago didn't it?

I think it's a matter of consequence. If I fill my car with diesel by mistake, all I have to do is drain the tank, fill the car with petrol and keep the ignition going until petrol gets to the engine and fires. It doesn't completely destroy the engine ala the battery issue.

Well that was a crap link, this is what it said:

Stupid URL's not working - add a http:// on the front

Blimey... I wonder what they'd make of Magic Roundabout :O

And also what cruisers can repel what firepower!

While I’m glad my future self isn’t suddenly going to appear and kick me in the balls for something I haven’t even done yet, I am kinda sad to hear this.

All perfect sense. I think one of the most interesting areas would then be where is the cut off point – if the memory is debilitating - physically or mentally? Or if it’s merely unpleasant like the tube gagging?

Poor dude is seriously lost.

Oh I know you're not being confrontational - and I'm certainly not trying to be, just trying to understand your argument which has some interesting points.

A bit confused by what you are saying. After a break up why would deleting the time when your are angry or sad delete the whole process of coping? Logically i would know that I coped since I would retain the memories of when I wasn't angry or sad. And how would (the sad / angry) memories come back if they had been

Good points all - i guess what i was trying to ask was does it change your personality as a person if you had those memories removed. But you raise some interestinging points - one of self awareness but also the fact that removing memories doesn't delete the event from the physical universe - other parties involved

OK I get your position but let me give you an example that has just occurred to me. I had two endoscopies about seven years ago for stomach problems – the first was in the US and the second was in the UK. Since I’m a wimp I had both under general anaesthetic but for the one in the US they gave me another drug as well

Let me put it bluntly - utter bollocks - you forget things all the time - it doesn't change your personality.

OK I have a question. People are saying that they wouldn’t want to forget anything as the experiencecontributed to making them who they are. But would having the painful memories erased actually change you back or change your personality at all? Let’s say you had a really painful break up – you could keep the good

Sure I understand standard car batteries die in these instances (I had a DB9 and the bloody battery was under the rear passenger seat), but these are Lithium ion batteries aren't they? Basically a ton of laptop batteries linked together and actively managed by software? Surely this is a simple software fix? I mean I'm

This sounds completely absurd. Every electrical device that uses rechargeable batteries cuts the draw once they have been depleted to a certain point – why are the Tesla’s systems different? What systems draw power when the vehicle isn’t in use? If it’s just the security system then there’s no point having that draw
