The entire community is just looking for ways to be “screwed over” at this point, though. It’s groupthink at its absolute worst. At present they’ve chosen Nemsy and the BlizzCon rewards as their nonsensical targets.

Nobody batted an eye when card backs like Power Core, Thrill of Victory or Dalaran Flame were only given

This. Please just take the initiative, people. That’s the idea here. This wasn’t supposed to make the entire community bitch and moan about not being able to find one—it was about giving the community additional incentive to create them!

You’d be surprised just how much control the publisher tends to have over the developerespecially when it comes to licensed games like this with so many different parties involved. Bandai Namco might as well be making the game themselves; they’re the ones pulling all of Arc System’s strings.

They never removed flying from Argus because you were never intended to fly on Argus in the first place. What about the design of Argus says that they planned for you to fly there? The whole point is to express the treachery of planet. There isn’t much danger if you can just fly over any and every obstacle.

It’s honestly the sweet spot. I think time gating is a necessity to hold interest, but 7.2 was way, way overkill. Three weeks is perfectly fine.

It actually wouldn’t make for a good expansion. That’s why Blizzard decided it was best suited to patch content.

I used to think that Argus was a shoe-in for a future expansion myself; an epic, large-scale battle against the Burning Legion on their own turf. What I failed to envision, however, was just how bad off

The anime’s budget has actually had a noticeable *increase*.

Every Pokémon manga is its own continuity.

In the case of Argus, it only showed up to end-game characters initially. It’s now visible to everyone, including low-level characters.

Great questions! As someone who’s played WoW since Vanilla and FFXIV since 1.0 (though much, much more post-ARR for obvious reasons) hopefully I can try to fill in some details other replies may have missed.

Ultimately, player freedom is the biggest difference when it comes to new player story. In FFXIV everyone

A secondary market is exactly the kind of thing a digital TCG *doesn’t* need. They’re atrocious in most physical games as isgames that have much less demand than their more accessible digital counterparts.

I can’t even fathom how inflated card prices would get if the game became an eSport.

Both Square Enix and Nintendo are supporting the series internationally. It was an initiative started by Iwata with the release of DQIX on the DS (the first Nintendo published title). Square Enix handles the localization work and Nintendo publishes/helps to fund said localizations outside of Japan.

Nintendo has since

Is the name of the article triggering anyone else?

That would be Angelo from DQVIII.

It was great getting to learn more about Mosqueira’s background, when he joined the team, etc. I think most people just know him as the “the game director that replaced Jay Wilson and then left.” But I always felt he was much more influential than people give him credit for.

It’s an actual cast. It’s not DQIII or IX.

It’s a complete non-issue, at least for Japan.

I’m anticipating voice acting for the international release, though. DQVIII was released in Japan with no voice acting as well, but it was added for the localization. History may repeat itself.

I haven’t tried Duelyst, though it does seem interesting. My only gripes with it are a bit superficial. It has more of a tactical feel than a TCG (not necessarily a bad thing) and while I like the sprites, I wish the cards had actual artwork to enjoy, leaving the sprites to the playing field only.

I don’t disagree with you, which is why I started my original post off with “for better or for worse.” Physical is almost always better than digital, particularly because of the finality of online games; though that’s something I’m much, much less worried about with Blizzard.

Since making my previous posts in April,

Fighters of the Storm, for realsies.
