This actually wasn’t at BlizzCon. It was a private event at their campus in Irvine.

Heh. Check out the Diablo subreddit. Those guys definitely think they could and should complain. So much salt.

As someone who’s had many, many bad experiences with events ending earlier than expected, I made an effort to finish up my purchases the night before and then just not play on the 1st of November. But I can definitely understand playing until the last minute.

I love being able to buy the holiday cosmetics now, though.

I already have, actually. I also pre-ordered the collector’s edition.

I’ve wanted an FF equivalent to Dragon Quest Monsters for a long time now. You could say that I’m really looking forward to this game.

Cause every FF has to be dark and broody, amirite?

Except for the fact that Mallow’s design was in that “fan art” before she was even revealed.

It’s leaked concept art from the anime. It’s happened in Pokémon before.

No, but Pokémon has a multiverse and it’s being heavily implied at this point that Greninja crossed dimensions to end up with the SM protagonist.

They’re definitely going to have collector value. A lot of people have been criticizing the game’s lack of original art, but for many FF fans this game is simply going to be a way to have all of their favorite Amano art, Nomura art, etc. on conveniently displayable trading cards.

By chance are you guys planning to write about Yuu Miyake’s comments on the potential for a Dragon Quest X localization from the QA at the DQVII PAX panel?

That won’t be the case here. Even if Square Enix does end up allowing foreign cards in tournament play the game has been completely rebooted, even in Japan. The older cards have a different card back and are not allowed in the new game. FFTCG had tons of balance issues so they just decided to start over to have a

What’s funny is that it’s even been done by Square Enix already. Dragon Quest X, another of their MMOs, has had this functionality for some time now. For whatever reason, it’s just taken them a while to port that system over to XIV.

Yet. It’s important to keep in mind that the movie is still quite a ways off.

The game’s newest set just introduced Sun Wukong though, and he’s the subject for the second short in the film.

Well, this is first and foremost for those familiar with the TCG. In FoW lore Cthulhu and co. are definitely not unseen for the most part. They’re right in the action.

It was actually ORAS where the multiverse concept took off. Before that, the extent of a multiverse was mostly well, version differences.

Think an FF version of Dragon Quest Monsters with even more fanservice.

I couldn’t have said it better. This is a spot-on description.

Magic has a rich mythos for sure. Personally, I don’t play it (I just happen to have more fun with other TCGs), but I can definitely respect how deep it is— both in flavor and mechanics. Duel Masters/Kaijudo has always been my WotC game of choice.

I agree. They’d arguably make a lot more if they improved on their failures, but they’re probably afraid to. YGO often times tops the TCG sales charts in the hobby and mass market sectors and is at least always in the Top 3 overall. Unless people vote with their wallets the game will not improve. There’s no reason for

Adults actually make up the vast majority of competitive players in all three games (VGC, TCG, Pokkén). The younger divisions pale in comparison.

Honestly, as much as I still have a soft spot for it, YGO has been in a terrible place for years now. Despite the fact that it still sells gangbusters, it’s probably the most poorly managed and balanced TCG on the market by a country mile.

There’s a lot that Konami could do to actually make the game more fun or more
