The 1.8 V6 DOHC from the Mazda MX-3, little big engine, decent power for the little car but it sounded great!! It was good on gas as well.Very fun car to drive and pretty cool engine, also know as the smallest production V6 in history

True but I think it just complements each other because back in the late 70's a 455 V8 had 180Hps and 320lb/ft so... even with ridiculous displacement you don't get sweet sweet torque if the technology isn't there (in this case technology that allowed low emissions on a high output engine, lol)
Well, of course more displacement will "always" give more torque, but old technology is still as good as it was and/or even better, LS7 engines make great numbers and still use the same old technology from the LS1.
