Ooooh, The Hunger. So very good.
Ooooh, The Hunger. So very good.
AMAZING!
Canadian tuxedos are never okay.
It is a parenting issue, but it's also connected to social conditioning. Generally speaking, boys are rewarded by society from the time they're babies for being aggressive/assertive, for being "high energy" to the point of being disruptive, and almost all parents reflect this - often unknowingly - in their parenting.…
Not exactly related, but my funny-male-doctor story: I'm from Canada, and both my kids were delivered by general family practitioners in teaching hospitals. There was a male student present for the second baby's delivery (actually, he delivered him, with my doc guiding his hands, which was pretty great). That night, I…
I've had multiple judgey lady docs, actually. I remember asking one whether she had heard of menstrual cups, and she said she had but that she didn't recommend them. I asked why and she said, "because I don't think women should put anything up there."
This is why I made sure to tell the hospital students were welcome at both my deliveries. The second baby was delivered by a male student, with my female family practice doctor guiding his hands. It was his first birth, and he was full of questions, and (when I wasn't out of my mind with contractions) I got a lot out…
I used to when I was younger, but now I don't care. I know a lot of doctors personally, and I hear a lot of their stories and experiences, and I just don't think the average male doctor would be fazed by me or vice versa - of course, I live in Canada where one usually just goes to a general practitioner for pap smears…
One of the hottest men I've ever met held the door into the hospital for me, smiled all flirty at me, said, "maybe I'll see you around," - - and then had to deal with the very unpleasant lady parts issue I was having.
"I know, you're confused by me. Yeah, take a number. "
This stayed true for me well into my 30s. I had guys as young as 20-25 hitting on me, when I was a solid decade older than them. That confidence you feel should continue to grow. I'm also married, and have been since my early 20s - maybe I seem attractive because I'm confident, friendly, but not seeming eager? What's…
I probably hit peak getting-hit-on-by-men around age 32 or 33. It's started to decrease in my later 30s. But ever since I turned 35 I've noticed a HUGE increase in the number of men in their late 40s to 60-ish who act interested. I'm sure, in retrospect, they were looking before, but somehow approaching 40 makes me…
This is exactly me, too. Husband's all, "sex?" and I say, "period..." and he says, "you know I don't mind." Yeah ... but.... I mostly do. It's messy, and I'm probably crampy and headachy and bloated and suffering indigestion, and my breasts become a no-fly zone. Just not that fun for me.
That scene - actually, him in that movie full stop - made me feel things I did not expect to feel about BC. Because the first 2 movies I saw him in were Starter for 10 and Atonement. Then I ran out and watched everything I could find him in.
Re. 3: Totally agree with you. I was starting to worry, but I wound up thinking that they way they wrote the scene made the gut punch that much more shocking. A+ work from Tobias Menzies.
The latter. There will be two more episodes, and then the dreaded "mid-season break", and then the other half in 2015.
I jumped when the blood came out. And I couldn't watch the amputation scene, at all.
Oh thank goodness! I've been watching for this all day :)
Awesome! Have you watched The Originals? It's not on Netflix, but it's the spin off set in New Orleans with Elijah et al. I have a huge soft spot for Klaus, so I devoured The Originals when it came out. Also, whoever said Outlander was right on the money. The sixth episode came out tonight and it was mesmerizing.
On Monday! Tomorrow's my husband's only day of the week off work, so it's a family day.
