I got a "you're pretty" from a much younger man the other day and it wasn't followed by "for your age". Although that's not remotely on the same level as racist bs, it was still shocking how great it felt not to get that qualifier added on.

So true. My eldest wasn't a runner at all, and the second bolted infrequently, so although I considered leashes I ultimately decided against them.
My kids both know my cell number by heart, and they do carry a card around with them with my husband's contact info and a 3rd emergency contact, just in case.
Oh! Further to my earlier comment - I remember loving Desert Hearts, although it's been at least 18 years since I saw it.
Truth. Afternoon sex is the best sex. Honestly, I'm good with any time after about 11 am.
I have zero sex drive in the morning. Morning sex is something I used to occasionally do because my husband wanted it, but I was so not into it that he wasn't into it anymore either.
Yep. She said he looks 40 to her not because he looks crazy young for his age, but because to her 40 is old and past a certain point of "old" it all looks the same to her.
I'm not a lesbian, but I have seen a few lesbian movies I enjoyed:
I dye my hair at home, and I do something I CANNOT recommend to anyone because it would be very irresponsible to recommend it ... but truthfully I just smear a little of the hair dye over each eyebrow toward the end of the dying time and it tints them enough to bring them in line with the hair colour (my natural hair…
I believe in you!! I've been a choral/musical theatre singer all my life, and I have a good but not mind blowing voice. My real strength in singing is being able to harmonize instinctively, and well. I'm a fairly low alto, and I love singing in duets or trios - I love the occasional solo, if it's in my range.

Then things became really unstable and it looked like we weren't going. The…
Mine gets back late tonight after a week away. I used the time to visit with my mom, drink lots of wine with friends, polish my nails, stay up late, go out dancing, watch bad tv, etc.
My husband has traveled a lot with work, at various times. I tend to use his absence to do things he doesn't enjoy but I do - watch all the shows I know he doesn't like, play music he dislikes, eat tomato sauce and steaks (which he's never that into), etc.
Did you see Amanda Palmer's response to Sinead? Palmer takes a lot of heat on Jezebel (and I do see why some of it happens), but she's pretty spot on in her open letter to Sinead.
Redheaded lawyer here. Not really type A by lawyer standards, but possibly by universal standards ;)
I like to think I resemble that remark! (and I am mostly made of shiraz)
I am so very lucky I married port!
My heavy reds are old enough now that they feel compelled to choose between the low neckline and the short skirt.
I like to think of it as a facial expression of the line from Dead Poets' Society: "I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing near you."
