Still better than them being unemployed- the Service has to reimburse any unemployment checks a Soldier draws. It’s cheaper for you (the taxpayer) for the government to assist in getting the SM a job (repaying a couple months) than to have them draw unemployment for a year, which then gets taken out of the service…
