1. You accuse me of arguing to argue, yet you keep on replying to me with absolutely nothing of merit or nothing to bolster your incorrect claim. That is hypocritical.

Or you could just not be hyperbolic, and also writing off Silent Films and other artforms because of their age. But more to the point, you can just not be hyperbolic and let your emotions shade an important discussion. Which, btw, I’ve already made clear that I agree there are a majority of male celebrities who don’t

Or you could just avoid using hyperbole and your arguments will show more merit. And you could also stop attacking me with such childish vitriol for pointing out your use of hyperbole.

Or you could avoid using hyperbole, either way works.

Ah, Kinja fun. It happens.

I don’t see how your example, which is a pretty obvious example of sexist media coverage, has the slightest bit of relation to shitty media coverage of Cam Newton, which is a pretty obvious example of racism. Different isms, different conversations, both very real.

Sure, just ignore any possible negative racist connotations in that “attention”! That’s not what THIS ARTICLE WHICH HAS SPARKED ALL CONVERSATIONS ON THIS PAGE is about at all!!!

But, yes, I’m sure there are examples of folks ragging on Cam Newton because they don’t like Cam Newton for whatever reason. Maybe they don’t like Greek Yogurt.

I think the scope of vitriol and criticism of Cam Newton, esp. compared in ratio to the scope of silence in reaction other players who do touchdown celebrations makes this point moot.

No idea what you’re on about. This has absolutely no relation to anything I’ve said in this discussion.

I’ve responded to this elsewhere, but I flatly disagree. I don’t think that a player’s popularity has anything to do in this situation and think that the racial discrepancy is obvious enough that any media member who doesn’t see the imbalance is either ignorant or consciously culpable.

I should also clarify, I absolutely don’t want the media to lay into Travis Kelce or anyone for a touchdown celebration. I’m firmly in the camp who thinks Roger Goodell is a stick in the mud (among far worse charges) and wants to see the NFL not stand for the “No Fun League”. It’s more that I want a dialogue on

Thank you very much for the thoughtful reply. I agree with most of what you’re saying here. I think the one point where I digress is that it should be very obvious to the media just how much of a red herring they’ve made Cam Newton in this situation. By proxy, it should be just as obvious how much of a red herring

Ironically, after just commenting on another article where I blasted the media in their treatment of Cam Newton, here I am ready to once again say “fuck KD and all the coddling he wants”.

I’m pretty sure it’s *more* to do with Cam Newton being black than Cam Newton being a ham when he gets in the endzone. The latter is true. But the former is far more likely the scenario for the level of vitriol Cam Newton receives.

Your assumption is on par with the OP I was replying to. And my response is the same...

Or, to be even more fair, this is entirely a racial issue and a strong example of double-standards in regards of what a white person can get away with in America compared to a minority.

He was probably under strict orders from his PR team to not use the word “Baroque”.

Is this a metaphor for his opinions on consent to sexual intercourse?

In a just world, this will get a strong promotional push. Here’s to hope!
