@Ben Wojdyla: SolidWorks and Inventor both have built in FEA these days... granted they're costly add-ins, but you don't have to shell out for I-DEAS or CATIA to get built in FEA.
@MrHowser: I've notice the same thing about comment history in peoples profiles. It's annoying, but they tweak stuff all the time. It'll come back eventually, along with the heart click visability.
@pj134: Actually I'll be ditching the AWD, the X1/9 being a mid-engined RWD setup. So I'll be mating it up to a Sentra SE-R 5-speed w/limited slip and shoe-horning the whole mess in behind the seats. The SR20DET should be a pretty tight fit to begin with, I don't think there would be any hope of fitting up the twin…

I really want to like electric cars, I do. 100 mi range on a (optimistically) 4 hour charge seems about par for the course. Battery exchange stations, as Ben mentioned, are a logistical nightmare. And a 20 min quick charge? How far does that get you?

What would I say? I'd would say something snarky and uncomplimentary about CARB and why we can't have anything nice here. But it would come across as ignorant and ill informed, and then I'd just be one of the hundreds of trollish comments that get glazed over with rolled eyes.

@Mad_Science: My brother in law recently picked up an '07 GT500. To my surprise, he let me drive it. It was quite an experience but, and he'd agree with me on this, once is my limit.
