The free version does not have desktop sync. So thank you, but you can keep your 50 GB without that.
Simply use another service to sync the same folder. There is almost no switch.
Hell yeah! I use SugarSync as well, it is priced at sweeter spots than Dropbox in my opinion. It is a good solution and offers the sync of folders outside the mail sync folder (Dropbox doesn't).

Well, it depends: They had "filters" before they even existed. So yea, I would still say Polaroid was the Instagram of it's time: you had your picture right away and could give it away to your buddies (in pre-WWW-times you had to give the physical, analogue picture away, in case Polaroid was before your time).
