“Hyped” is different than “Overly Advertised”.  I don’t think I know of a single person who was excited about this game.  Everyone just knew about it because you can’t avoid the ads no matter where you go.

The new “Standard” should be options. At the very least native 1080p x 60 fps for a “performance mode” or a “Graphics mode” at 4k x 30 fps minimum. Basically exactly what Monster Hunter World does. Give people choice in how they want to play their games.

I’m in the same camp. The modern part of the story was AS interesting as the historical stuff for me, at least until they jumped the shark and really leaned into the gods and aliens bullshit. Now the games are just generic historical fantasy games, which is par for the course in Ubisoft's attempts to make their games…

I held off on this series after Rogue, so I wasn’t aware that the stealth blade had really fallen off like it seems like it has. I’m definitely in the camp of fans of liking the older versions of the games, and I really miss the conspiracy laden puzzles in 2-3,  but I know that is something that can’t really come back.

Agreed, gameplay should literally mean someone interactively playing the game. Not just cinematics, not just in-engine footage. If it’s gameplay but the game is normally going to have a HUD and it’s removed for presentation then just put a disclaimer at the bottom. This is easy stuff, people just want transparency.

Dude. Cate Blanchett getting cast in an Eli Roth driven Borderlands (aka a garbage fire) would no more grant legitimacy to video game movies than Bob Hoskins did for them in Super Mario Brothers.

It’s obviously sharper but the character models lost something in the process. The female characters really got hit hard with the generic anime stick.
