I think the best outcome is for Bungie to try and emulate the success of CD Projekt RED. They have remained independent for a long time and seek help when its time to publish their game that’s close to release.

They are the largest independent studio I believe, with over 800 employees. The bidding war has just begun.

I highly anticipate Sony or Microsoft counting money to try and court them over.

Except there’s no predatory action being used with trading cards as do companies that create lootboxes use to prey on people. There’s psychology of manipulation surrounding lootboxes.

However, you’re right. Gambling has it’s own rules, but the psychology used in its mechanics is most definitely used on lootboxes.…
