I don't like WW pants. Not her having pants in general, I'm all for that. But these specific pants don't fit the rest of the outfit, mostly because they are the only brown thing on her.

As someone who works in robotics, the answer really depends on the individual situation. If there was a material failure (like the tool breaking off), then the manufacturer is most likely responsible for the defect. But that's probably the only time the robot manufacturer will have responsibility.

I can already picture this as a stain glass window in the Consolidated Church of Science Fiction and Fantasy.
