Polysorbate-60 is a nonionic surfactant, which means it acts as an emulsifyer. It's not actually very strange that it's used in a large variety of products that need emulsifying and stabilising; some of which are edible and some of which are not. It doesn't mean that one of those many products can easily be replaced

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed those very much!

I don't get how the osmosis method works. First you say that two fluids are in a bag. Then you say that they are in two bags with a membrane separating them. Which one is it? And what kind of bag (=membrane?) does it need to be for osmosis to work?

I don't know about melting, but there seemed to be something wettish on my face toward the end there.

Looks scrumptious!

Clearly, we must kidnap one of each and force them to breed under controlled circumstances.

Sweden had the Bratt System in the first half of the 20th century, which meant a rationing of spirits and strong beer in an attempt to bring down the alcohol consumption and its related problems with alcoholism, violence and crime (wine was exempt from rationing since only "cultured" people drank it in those days).

Nah, I'd just read the comment about the guy's wife a few posts above this one, so I put two and two together. (I agree with your sentiment, though — who could possibly object to an evening full of Marvel movies?! Especially ones filled with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans!)

I've already seen it (it's been showing for a week now) and I LOVED it. I wish I could afford to go see it again.

"Puny god."

I think you replied to the wrong comment there. :)

Definitely orange. Unless there is a recent redefinition of pink that I was unaware of...

This is probably a lot closer to what happened with cats than to what happened with dogs. Dogs are very likely the result of active domestication (raising abandoned/stolen wolf puppies with humans), while cats seem to have more or less domesticated themselves — they started hanging around human settlements because

As soon as people become parents, their brains are taken over and they forget what normal people are like and what normal people like to talk about.

Exactly. I don't really understand what all the fuss and uproar is about.

Also, that toy catalog image is NOT representative for Swedish toy ads. It's a very, very rare exception to the rule. Mostly it's all pink and glittery princess and doll stuff for the girls and black and blue cars, guns and superhero stuff for the boys. Just so you know.

No, we have two biological sexes because it takes one male and one female to mate and propagate the species. You are confusing sex and gender. Please read up on what "gender" actually means.

The dads DO get as much parental leave as they want to. A couple can share the allowed parental leave equally if they like to. If it makes sense to the parents, the dad can claim most of the leave. But a lot of dads still don't take much or any of the leave (due to old gender roles or lack of understanding from their

Arrgh. I was waiting for this to show up here. First of all, nobody is suggesting that "hen" should replace the pre-existing gender pronouns, just complement them, for those times when it would be rather useful to have one (say for transgendered people or when you are referring to a person whose sex/gender is unknown

"Mysig" isn't too bad, either.
