I own a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse an hour and a half outside of raleigh, NC. Schools are good and tied into all the major colleges. my mortgage including insurance is 500 a month. I live within my means and I can assure you that 50k a year is more than enough to live comfortably on while squirreling away for

that depends on where you work and what you do.

this is 2016, he’ll be living at home and working out of the basement. He won’t have to worry about utilities or anything. Go watch that tv show Crowded, while obviously exaggerations are in play it really isn’t that far from the truth for millennials that live in major cities.

If you expect to raise a family on a single income then you are not living in a major metropolitan area. Thems the facts. a 3 bedroom house where I live is over 2200 a month in a shitty area, and nearing on 3500 a month in an ok neighborhood. factor taxes out of your pay and even at a 100k a year half of our income

they pay significantly more in larger cities. the SF median is almost double that. Miami is almost 50% higher. 53k is definitely a livable salary in Miami (yeah, your not living on the beach or partying it up 5 days a week, but you are living comfortably in a 1 bedroom apt) let alont 75k.

Yes but the pay scale in San Francisco is significantly higher then it is in South Dakota, almost twice what the original poster said the national average is.

Here is my take on it:

Fuck you.

some roads are thin and you have to go around the runner to avoid them or slow down to a crawl backing up early morning traffic. It is unsafe as the runners could be hit as well.

the drive way dips are bad for your ankles, knees, and hips. the cop is not a pos. He was doing his duty and the runner was a POS.

refusing to identify yourself will immediately result in probable cause situation for hiding information. You can stay silent, or say I refuse to provide any information until I speak with legal council. I pulled that shit once when pulled over, which resulted in me waiting on a drug dog and a lot of wasted time

running in the street when there is a sidewalk is a crime in that state. Telling a cop to f off could be construed as resisting to comply with a lawful order and could be grounds for arrest, especially when telling the officer to f off after he gave you 2 opportunities to correct your unlawful behavior, and you refuse

yes there is, it’s been quoted multiple times before your post.

no you don’t, not without extenuating circumstances. You must clearly prove the office was using excessive force against you when he was arresting you.

what state is it? What exactly constitutes an unlawful arrest?

well, in my subdivision there are two three car driveways, about 10-15 feet apart, that dip fairly sharply every 30-50 feet. It is very uncomfortable to run on the sidewalks there and I do stick to the streets as a result. once I get to the main drag I will transition to the sidewalk until i get to the major housing

It wasn’t excessive on the police part at all IMO. He asked her to move onto the sidewalk, warned her and she ignored it. when he got out she escalated the issue. This was all her

she could have been charge with a shit ton of things but the cop wasn’t being a dick about it. Why throw in obstruction of justice, refusal to comply, jay walking, public nuisance/hazard, assault, and whatever nickle and dime shit he could have thrown in. It’s more paperwork, most will likely be thrown out as part of

It’s really not though. If sidewalks are present it is much safer for the runner and the drivers, especially in thin public areas during dusk and dawn. running on the road means drivers will go around you, often over compensating your position which could lead to accidents.
