Stop fighting the advance of gaming because of paranoia. Yes, DLC could be a force of evil. But I've mostly seen it used for good; stuff that was obviously made post-development cycle (after a COMPLETE game) that we have the option to pick up.

We have had DLC for quite a while, they were called expansion packs.
