Everyone’s silly jokes aside, the jump in resolution is the real benefit here and unless you have a 4k or 1440p monitor then you can’t appreciate the difference.
For people who aren’t aware: Japanese people made fun of the original Resident Evil’s easy difficulty by beating it under 3 hours with only a knife. The developers of RE2 made fun of this by creating the character Tofu who only had a knife and had to run quickly through a section of the police department.
Alternatively, you can buy a huge external drive and turn it into an internal. I did that with a 5TB external seagate; it’s now my PC games HDD. And then I used the enclosure to create a 2TB external as backup for important files.

My liquid cooler went out and my CPU was running at 99°C.... so I shipped it to california and had to wait for another one. During those 3 weeks I did EVERYTHING on my Xbox One and actually found it to be competent. I synchronized my bookmarks so it was fine.
I have yet to play Quake but I still plan to. I loved Doom and these type of shooters. Hopefully I can use some of these mods to modernize it a tad.
