@justnosy: I agree with you. I was raised by immigrant asian parents in a less harsh manner than Prof. Chua's kids. I am an immigrant myself, and have seen how education is the surest way to get a good life for yourself. I understand the sense of urgency she must feel to make sure her children has a good future.

Sometimes I want to tell the western ideal, "It's not always about YOU." Other non-white cultures are allowed to have standards of beauty which may just happen to coincide with your standards.

No google... no! Don't count your chickens before they hatch! Do what you did with your search engine - create a really great product, and let the results speak for themselves.

@thenewperson is now Commander Apparent. I'm on a spaceboat.: Don't pretend like you never touch things just because you like the texture. I'm not doing it in a creepy way, if that makes you feel better. It's just you know, matte and soft and I'm like, "you look all cold and plastic but you feel warm and soft!"

@Ben R: Oh nooooo.... dreams dashed. I love the texture of the back of the G1, which thankfully made it to the Evo (yay HTC!) so I'm always... touching it.

I really enjoy the minimalism and I love that it's not a super shiny surface so that you can touch it and not leave ten million fingerprints.

Yes, friend them, but put them in a friend list called "CENSORED" and then change your privacy settings for wall, photos, videos so that friends EXCEPT "Censored" can see them.

@philosopher_dog: With apple it's never a bad design. It's a "feature."

@im2fools: I'm going to go with "No" here. I mean, Bambi was clearly harboring a hidden tendresse for Thumper and maybe Flower and only turned to Faline out of desperation and boredom.

From Wikipedia: "Bambi is disgusted, until he runs into Faline and they become a couple. As they happily dance and flirt through the woods, another buck, Ronno, appears who tries to force Faline to go with him. Though he initially struggles, Bambi's rage gives him the strength to defeat Ronno and push him off a cliff

So far it seems really smooth compared to the beta. Menus and options don't feel as laggy.

@LucasFFXI: You have to redeem the code and then create your character. I made the mistake of creating my character first and had to delete it and recreate it again in order to get the onion helm.

@vinod1978: $100 yearly vs $25 for a lifetime is not negligible for some people. I'm not arguing over the quality of an app. I'm just saying that the amount of money the developer needs to spend in order to get started changes how that developer might consider pricing.

@xleo21: "Crappy" is very subjective. You can make money off "crappy" apps, e.g. the initial wave of fart apps... It's only when there's competition to your app that you have incentive to improve your own product. At $100 a year, it's pretty good incentive for people to write something good, and the amount of effort

@xleo21: They would if it's the only app store in existence, which was the case at the time.

@emptymovement: It's not really a horror film for me, because I don't have a penis. The teeth only came out when the girl decided they should come out, or when she was being raped - pretty much ideal situations for wanting teeth down there.

Developers have to pay a one time fee of $25 to publish apps for Android, where as they pay a yearly fee to Apple... that might take away the incentive to give away some of the apps for free.

Why would I want this? Part of the Prius' charm is its ability to elicit brief looks of terror when pedestrian realize there's a car behind them. Doesn't really work with blind pedestrians, but well... I'd hope people use the BRAKES when they encounter pedestrians.

Hurrah... for minimal changes... still, an update is an update and I still get excited by them.

Prerequisite for this course is kinda hard to pass... you have to learn to walk and breath at the same time without bumping into things while holding your phone. Man, the bruises I got...
