Underrated? I think most people here would rate her as one of the best writers Jalopnik has got, and rightfully so.

I think Mercedes is the most underrated writer on this site.

All my Lexus live in Texas....

I think we all know the likelihood of that happening is on par with McConnell and Pelosi hooking up in a backroom at the Capitol.

Tire mechanic was in the wrong. When you put studs on, you don’t use an impact gun. You hand them on and then finish with a torque wrench. I don’t care how many people will tell you “Oh just do a few threads and if it’s good, zip it on!” or “Use a torque stick and it’s OK”.

Unnecessary braking.

My pet peeve is parents who line up around the bus stop idling in their giant SUVs waiting for their 4th graders to get off the bus so they can drive them the remaining 1 block to their homes.

Literally me at one of the two I encounter daily and several times per week: “IT’S NOT A FUCKING STOP SIGN - MERGE YOU WHORE!”

Yeah.  Fuck those people straight up the ass with a red-hot poker.

Also, when people hang out right in the right rear corner blind spot while on the highway. Either stay behind me or pass me don’t don’t stay in one of the most dangerous spots.”

Drivers who pass or try to pass when you’ve stopped to let someone on foot cross the street.

People who don’t signal their intentions or wait until they are starting their turn or lane change before signaling.

People that don’t know how to use roundabouts.
I have 4 roundabouts within a mile of my house that I use daily, and the amount of people that get mad at me for using it (correctly) as a roundabout and not a stop sign is just out of this world.
Peoples rage at me includes tailgating, brighting me, cutting me off so I

Oh! I have lots of them, but I’m in the middle of a meeting so here are just a few of my favorites:

No headlights/rear running lights at night. So many new cars even have automatic ones that sometimes I see a car and think, wow they had to manually turn them off. A lot of newer cars also have running lights that are always on so people think those are sufficient but they have no rear lights unless they brake. It

Drivers who need to see how many people they can get around then cut someone off to exit, when they could have just got in line.

If he were at fault, but it’s hard to tell from the video. I don’t think emergency vehicles can blow through red lights like that just because they have their emergency lights on. Every one I’ve ever seen at least slows and ensures traffic is stopped before going through a red.

navigators can’t move firetrucks.

When I drove an ambulance in VA we were told, in no uncertain terms, that if we collided with something when proceeding through an intersection code 3 (lights and sirens) and the traffic signals were not in our favor it was our fault. No ifs ands or buts.  We did provide the municipal 911 service, but were not city

Ok now I gotta think that the character of Tim Cramblin was at least a tribute to this guy, no? The show was so deep in Detroit lore, it can’t be a coincidence?
