Usually we would have too, for smaller ones, but this was a HUGE spider. We didn't want it in the house any longer than it had to be.

Thankfully, we we're able to isolate them to the tile mudroom, and then promptly sprayed them with a liberal dose of Raid.

If you are going away for a week or more, I recommend spraying your house (if you don't like spiders). Especially if you use an organic one with lots of oils that don't smell that nice, is a great way to avoid that. As well as not coming home from a vacation to find a little creature waiting to greet you.

Very cool! I have only seen the black ones, but with the multiple colors, the organizational opportunity is endless!

But I guess a flat sheet of plywood (maybe painted) would be all you need to tidy that up. Just remember to have proper venting holes and leave a way to get at the electronics underneath. But yeah, it does look pretty disorganized from this angle.
