I think that with every backed, or early access game, the developers need to agree to, and open express that they will provide updates on a regular schedule. If it can contractually be included in kickstarter, or steam... I think that would be huge.
Or maybe it’s because, if you read the entire Kickstarter pitch, you realize that the whole thing is for a “Zero Chapter” sort of concept demo - a single part of the larger game, which nobody knows how big / small it will be, when it will deliver, or how long after THAT it will take a larger game to come out.
