I just think it's funny how people make these associations. "The murderer liked Mass Effect, the game is clearly to blame and should be banned." Adolf Hitler had a dog which told him to kill the Jews, time to exterminate all the dogs. People say some ridiculous things when they're emotionally wound up.

A lot of people are attacking this poor guy for not knowing what a 4X game is. I'll be completely honest though, while I've played games that play the '4X' genre, I've never heard or read the term. If you go to any major game retailer and ask them to recommend a 4X game then the clerk might look at you like you have

I've come to understand the terms geek and otaku as two separate things. An otaku is someone who is obsessed with a particular person, thing, or subject. In contrast, you wouldn't call someone in the US a gun geek or a fashion geek. Both do carry a generally negative connotation though.

The keyboard/mouse controls for the PC version of Dark Souls, those who have played it know what I'm talking about.

I don't think that Square is going to disappear from the RPG scene, but I do find myself less excited for their releases. Starting with Final Fantasy 12 (which, I'll be honest, I never finish and mean to purchase again,) I think that the series has started to stray from some of the things that I fell in love with

You say that map selection is dull, but looking at other MOBAs it is on par. I have yet to see a single MOBA break the mold. Also, the gameplay has changed a considerable amount since DotA was first released; the core gameplay remains the same, but a lot of things have been added.

I tend to agree with your statement. There are loads of games out which are very similar to CoD, but sell significantly worse. The biggest reason that it sells worse is BECAUSE it isn't CoD. People buy it for the name at this point.

Square-Enix has ported a decent number of its older games to Android (more on iOS,) I highly recommend getting them if you haven't played them already. As far as original games worth playing, there are few to none. Try Avadon, it is a strategy-rpg and kinda hard, but probably one of the few games on phones "for

While I wasn't blown away with Zenonia, I've yet to find any mobile RPGs other than Chaos Ring that really blow me away (outside of ports of NES and SNES games like Chrono Trigger.)

I would agree with that. The Aether mod almost doubled in-game content at the time.

The Aether mod is the single best mod to date (not including modloader and the like.) I really hope they continue to support it at least until Minecraft stops being update, or they release the source code so other modders can continue running with the torch.

People are still playing Ultima Online and the original Starcraft. Also, World of Warcraft, 'nuff said. Tell me again how dedicated gaming fans tend to leave their favorite games.

TBH, I have fond memories of both the old Genesis Sonic and Dreamcast Sonic (not Sonic Shuffle,) it was after that, I believe the trouble started.

This is what I foresee. So many people have come up with homebrew devices to boost WiFi signals and the detection angle for the Wii sensor bar. I say that after a few months we'll start hearing that taping plastic cups lined with aluminum foil to your Wii U will extend the range on the controller.

A lot of people seem kind of upset by this, and while I can understand that changing someone's intellectual property to fit your own needs is a no-no, I don't think it is a big deal. I honestly think that the story is kind of sweet, and I tend to agree with the father. There aren't enough strong female characters, and

I actually know of GoG and I've heard good things about them, but their lack of modern games makes it unappealing to the majority. I think that if they were to start selling modern games then they would get a decent portion of market share, but as it is now, I think that even Desura is more popular.

That, to me, is the scariest thing about buying from services like steam and desura. I don't expect the service to go under any time soon, but when given the choice, I still buy physical copies whenever possible.

I'm talking about when you get in game. You're required by many pc games (like Warhammer and all recent Batman games) to log in to your Windows Live account, and it is basically a migration of the xbox live interface to the pc. It is really inconvenient and there are few benefits beyond getting gamerpoints on your

I played the first two titles on PC and very much enjoyed it, especially with the release of Halo Custom Edition, which allowed modded servers and user-made content.

Saying that PC gaming is the cheapest way to play is a bit misleading. If you want to play games that are several years old THEN it is probably the cheapest way to play, however if you want to stay up to date with the newest games being released on consoles it can be considerably more. Using iBUYPOWER (because most
