Afaik both octopuses and squids are color blind and only able to see in shades of grey, yet perfectly able to mimic the colors of of stuff to camouflage themselves.

Ironically enough Bird Brains would probably be a good template to try and copy, several birds in the corvid family are just as smart as chimps despite having brains the size of peanuts.

And Battle Royale is just a ripoff of Lord of the Flies, sure they changed the reason for getting stuck on the island and gave them weapons right off the bat, but just because they added some stuff here, changed some stuff there doesn't mean it isn't the exact same story.
