Honeycomb works for phones to. If you fire up honeycomb in the sdk emulator and gradually reduce the screen size it automatically switches off the tablet GUI and back to the regular phone interface once you go below a certain screen size.

I'm extremely tempted to get this. From the hands-on previews of the leaked prototypes it's already been confirmed that the D-pad and the other buttons do work with regular android apps. So this would be golden for playing NES/SNES/GBA/etc emulators on the go.
