I remember having zero interest in the flags and templars while playing the first game. I didn’t finish AC2 because of the voicework and saminess to the first and retired from the series until Rogue.  I liked sailing a boat and killing assassins.

Plenty of childhood come to mind but its harder to find/play games as an adult for many reasons that have that thrill/joy you had as a kid. From the last 10 years, I would select playing either Nier Automata, Evil Within 2 and Dragon’s Dogma.

I saw the first one on a whim at my local regal and it was pretty good. It brought a big chinese-american audience with it which made me happy for some reason. I will definitely watch this sequel to see how Ne Zha has matured (or not) as a character.
