The key aspect nobody here is talking about is Haas' experience with commercial connections. He's far more aware of the need for a title sponsor than other start-ups, far more able to nab one, and far better equipped to deliver against their commercial needs.
His wind tunnel facility is in NC and yes, other F1 teams use it. It's one of the best, if not the best, in the world.
I disagree. Getting the F1 interested stirred in the US has been a huge interest of Bernie's for some time now. (because it means a lot of money) I'm sure he's very hopeful they succeed.
Or they will run out of money before the season start, like USF1.
I can't wait to see Gene & Tony in Monaco at the LeGrille De L'Hotel de Paris trying to order smoked turkey legs and Coors. 'merica...
Well he is right. There has been other teams that have been approved, but have collapsed on costs before the season have even started. Even one particular US team from 2010 comes to mind...
28k for your fiberglass and spaghetti masterpiece? CP today, CP forever.
Sorry, but with that exhaust pipe routing this car just wants to be a Ferrari just a leeetle too much..
Yeah, but with all that bitchin' padding and insulation around it, it's gotta be okay... right? right?
I do not think it would be possible given the tires, the power (unlikely more than 400hp).
Price is reasonable considering what these have been going for. Guy will probably take less if you show up with a duffel bag full of cash.
Jezbians I bet.
I kinda sorta dig it... For $4500 it would be worth finishing. CP
As much as I want to take it home and love him and kiss him and call him George, 28 large is just too much for someone else's project.
Let's put the gas tank right in the middle of the hot parts of the car! What's the worst that could happen?
The zero key struck again. again. The price was $2800 and the 0-60 time was 40 sec.
I swear people do this just to piss us off. Who's out there? Jezzies? Gizmonistas? Who?
Cool! Fuel cell in the highest point of the car for the maximum center of gravity. Option kits to mount it to the roof.
For 10k, maybe. For 6k, sure. But 28,000? No. And I highly doubt the car does 60 in under 4 seconds.
