The bigger the car, especially with what I consider too high a center of gravity, the less I’m going to like it. I’m just not comfortable combining large vehicles and high performance.

I own an outback wagon and shod it with studded snows. You’re right, awd is not a silver bullet but with proper tires, it is a few steps closer. Being competent behind the wheel adds another level.

The internet, more specifically social media, is slowly diluting the concept of personal responsibility. I could go on but what’s the point? If I don’t “post” a highly charged and hyperbolic comment then no one will listen.

I used to own a ‘76 Pontiac Catalina. I heard the tales of being able to sit on the fender and dangle one’s legs into the engine bay whilst changing spark plugs, so I decided to test that theory. It’s doable but coordination and patience are the rules of the job.
