OK, this could be made in a way that is much simpler and cooler. Suspend the bench from thin but strong cables. Attach balloons to additional cables. The suspending cables will get lost in the sea of other cables. No bolting of fake balloons to the ceiling. The real balloons will move around and look cool. Also

@JoanDicedEye: I suppose I could work up some indignant outrage about the "attack on Christmas"... Seems to work out for O'Reilly.

@kasrhp: You mean NPR is an accomplice?

@Irving94: Well then, what am I supposed to do with all this left-over indignant outrage? :)

@speednuts: Exactly, the court of public opinion has been having some speedy trials without considering the evidence.

The title of this post would be more accurate if it read "WikiLeak's Julian Assange not Accused of Rape".

@golferal: At first I was going to disagree with you. However you are correct that by saying "media" includes Gizmodo and Gizmodo clearly has biases. In fact, Joel Johnson recently wrote about this very issue.

@seanpat12: The ink cartridges that come bundled with the printer are far smaller than normal.

@ursa: Patience padwan, the technology is new. Manufacturers don't want to force-push this stuff out the door without a staged rollout.

@Homer Berkowitz: It was a teaser for the actual event so they can't show a lot or it defeats the purpose.

@Mr. F: Exactly, that is how thing should work in theory but the problem with the free market is that it isn't theory and there are all these problems that prevent it from working efficiently or fairly. Consumers won't band together to form collective action groups to assess quality and won't educate themselves.

@Mr. F: Also, it is better to talk about TVs as a purchase as they are essentially consumables that lose value quickly. Stocks and bonds are investments. I think too many people store their money in possessions.

@Mr. F: The company will sell more TVs if they look good rather than if they are durable. Plus when you break one you have to buy a second TV. This is the free market. I don't like it sometimes but that's why we have regulations to protect us from shady dealings.

@reddyroc: Haha, few people ever use the chemistry they study. I was a chemist for a while but got out of it to do biology. Chemistry is useful but the field itself is mature, meaning no interesting things are likely to be discovered. Biology, on the other hand, is doing quite well.

@DrunkenOstrich: No problem, it would be worthwhile to talk to a genetic counselor. They can give more pragmatic advice and will understand the genetic basis of schizophrenia.

@reddyroc: Yeah, scientists get pretty particular about language. It's like a whole other level of grammar nerd. However it kinda matters if you want to be understood.

@Mr. F: The more material you put on the front of the screen, the more distortion and refraction you get. For best optics, I'd imagine you want minimal material, few gaps and materials of similar refraction. However I'm guessing.

@reddyroc: That's not how the periodic table works. The MASS of a lead atom is greater than that of gold. However, when you are talking about something being heavier, you are talking about weight which is mass times gravity. So that lead atom is only heavier if you are actually weighing one atom of lead.

@ABigFatGeek: *ahem* those aren't condoms, they are "finger cots".
