I was totally in this boat. I would personally be really conflicted at this price - but assuming I could negotiate 500 or 1000 off, it'd be a slam dunk. So when I really have to think about it, I figure it's a NP. Close one for me, though.

I assume someone has already said it, but the emotional pricer strikes again. Desirable car + personally invested project = over inflated notion of value. It's a hard one to resist. People like this should the opinions of a few, non-involved parties.

I've not biked in NYC and I can't imagine I ever would. Biking in suburban Atlanta is plenty risky for me. But I would add, from the bikers perspective, I only ride in the middle of a lane when it's a safety issue. There are times when it's better to take the lane and slow a car driver than put yourself at rick for

Wow. That is insanely good looking.

I think a lot of people are mistaking things that created bad PR for a company for a PR mistake - in which the company choose some form of marketing that went bad. Ford didn't decide to flip a lot of Explorers as a marketing stunt, so it doesn't really apply to this question.

Oh man, your idea of really cheap is different than mine. But I think you missed my point - if you did all that to this car and ran it down a 1/4 mile, something in there is going to break. That would only be the start of the work. And really - add in a complete brake rebuild or you're just flying off the end of the

Something tells me that after looking at the engine bay, it's not to be "really really" cheap to get that running 12 seconds. At least more than once. Or stopping after doing the first one.

I'm guessing that's the appeal of this thing - cause is sure isn't as a camper. I don't know squat about RVs (or custom built wacky versions of them), but a quick search turn up a lot of used ones for less than $12,500 - and they had toilets and stoves that don't require wood. It's definitely for going to shows and

Yeah, I think so, too. That thing has the V8 and tranny from basically F1 technology. It's over 100K, I think - and it makes the base Atom look like a Camry. I think the TGUK guys said it needs more downforce to be able to handle better. Too much power and too little weight.

Apparently I found the stats for the M70 variant. That's fairly stout. Not sure that's still enough to convince me to drop 20K on it... but I would test drive it.

Yeah. Especially when you are putting in a motor that might be impressive engineering, but 296 HP just isn't worth the work - and I am guessing trouble in maintaining. I'd be more willing to have bought it if they had supercharged the original motor. Interesting project - but not something I would buy. Much less for

I don't think it's too good to be true at 2,500 bucks. Granted, it's not the last money you will spend on it - not by a long shot, especially if you let the swap bug get you, but for a starting point? NP.

I thought I had heard the same thing. NSTB and Insurance bureau, along with a couple car mags couldn't replicate the scenarios and in all cases, were able to stop a car at full throttle by depressing the brakes. And did I miss something where it says "He does not claim the accident caused her death"? What is the

Yeah. That's the good stuff. As to the CP Dino thing - under the skin, seems like a nice ride. The mileage, single owner all are perfect for an older car like this. But damn is it ugly. Rather buy a stock 911 in worse condition and spend the money cleaning it up.

I don't know crap about how diesel's work or run rich, but I bet a bunch of money that the engines in that Russian train are neither modern or tightly controlled. In fact, I bet it's running on vodka and sorrow.

Surely the people voting NP are doing it for comedy or spite? Please tell me there are not people who think this is worth $3,500. Some else said it - $500 for LeMons and that's pushing it. CP and beyond.

Actually, the brake checker was hurt there. The guy in the hospital was hit when the bikers attacked the car the first time, scaring the driver into leaving. Some of the bikers were hitting the car and stabbing the tires. If he was one of them, he already got his justice. If was just gawking or in the wrong place, he

I was wondering about a lot of this, too. CNN had an article about it with more info. Apparently, there was an accident and the motorcycle driver's leg was broken. It did not say how (but I have to believe the bikers were acting irresponsibly). When the Range Rover pulled over, bikers started hitting the car and

Yeah, this is so far outside my style, it's hard to even imagine owning it. But if this was your thing, I find it hard to believe you could do this for 6K. The interior work looks pretty good in the video - the actual embroidered logos in the seats. I have to agree, looked at objectively, NP... assuming you are a

I was tempted to go NP, for all the reasons you list. My biggest fear, besides the structural issue (which is a big fear) is that this was done a good while ago. If the seats were recovered when the top was done, it had to be a while ago. Is the top still in good condition? I just wish there was more info and less
