Avoid Cloud Atlas if you must (I loved it but mostly because I adored the pastiche of genres and I’m a literature nerd), but get thee to the bookstore/library for The Thousand Autums of Jacob de Zooet. It’s was one of two books I read in 2015 where I’ve wished I could unread it so I could go back and read it again for

As someone TTC, I agree I’d much much rather have an app that connects to my ovulation tests. The app I’m using to track my fertility now hawks a device for taking your temperature that connects wirelessly with the app (turns out temp tracking does not work for me for various reasons). It would be great if the

In all seriousness, can anyone with kids tell me if there’s anything similar to Tinkerbell for this demographic on the market now? I have a 4-year-old friend who loves makeup as much as I do (she’s my makeup spirit animal). She has some goopy Disney branded stuff and some of her grandma’s castoff Clinique gift minis,

I know right. They’ve kept us up 2 nights in a row prowling all over the bed and meowing (punishing us for going out of town). But I love those furry little bastards and wouldn’t trade them for any pet in the world.

My cat does this! I need to get a trashcan with a lid for the bedroom. One tiny minipad wrapper in there and guaranteed at 3am I’ll hear the telltale “krinkle krinkle”—it now wakes me out of a sound sleep. Weird because she usually just eats paper (and toilet paper). The other cat is the the one who sits in the

Hi Penpal! Amazing — I’m also a Penpal, and so few of us still exist. I’ve had mine since we were 10. I’m now 35. I was in her wedding! She flew 3000 miles to attend mine. It’s harder now that she has young kids and lives farther away, but it’s one of the more rewarding relationships I’ve ever had. I still have the

I recently got these. I’m a 7.5 who sometimes wears a 7 and sometimes an 8. I got an 8 (no half sizes) and they’re a bit too big. I’ll wear thick socks and make it work, because I was too lazy to return them, but I would size down if you’re a half size.

Late to the party, but have you tried the NYX Wonder Pencil? It comes in 3 shades and is supposed to be usable as concealer, highlighter, eyeliner, etc. It’s “nude” colored rather than white. I bought one this weekend to use as an outer lip liner and it’s great. It’s a creamier consistency like stick concealer but in

Yes, scrolled down to look for this. UD eye primer is crap. Every Sephora employee/makeup artist agrees NARS primer is the best. I tried Benefit’s and Smashbox’s for a while because they’re cheaper, but it’s no contest. Even the lady at the Benefit counter who did my brows for a while used NARS.

I love Bite. I have sensitive skin, and I’ve tried all their different products/finishes. Their lip glosses are a problem for me (they sting a bit and make the skin around the edges of my lips break out in tiny bumps). But their pencils, matte crayons, and lipsticks are amazing!

Same here, I run more neutral than pink but I’ll definitely have to tone down that pink eyeshadow and make sure it’s a true matte. I have so many good mlbb pinky/brown lipsticks right now and a really good steel blue/grey MUFE artist shadow, I’m totally inspired to try this.

This show is absolutely batshit bananas. I loved every melodramatic second of it. It’s basically Center Stage with fucking, boobs, and drugs.

Adding her makeup look here to my repetoire stat!

I made Rosemary Salt as favors for my wedding. So easy. My mom and I did it in 2 hours and big boxes of kosher salt are cheap. World Market has a billion different kinds of little glass jars for storage/gifting. A year later, our friends tell us they are using it!

Girl, if your dress is A-line, just focus on your arms and you’ll be all good! Buff arms, and a little self-tanner, is all you need!

The other thing that really helps is not drinking the few weeks before your wedding. My dress felt tight at my last fitting, about 3 weeks out (I was traveling a long way for the wedding so didn’t have a choice to do a fitting later). I cut out wine (mostly) for those three weeks and lost about 5 lbs. It was hard

Yeeup, her ceremony dress looks like what I pictured Araminta’s would look like. But where was the garden party with giant teapot/champagne fountain!?

I use both! At night I use the Neutrogena anti-wrinkle on “problem areas” (I do see results on my crows feet) and after it dries a bit I layer the CeraVe PM formula over my whole face, eyelids too. The Doc actually emphasized that step. (I also like having ALL the products in my medicine cabinet).

Yep. I go to a super fancy dermatologist and when I developed Rosacea she said switch to CeraVe moisturizers and cleanser. I had been using Ole Henrickson ($$$) so I was very happy. And the Neutrogena anti-aging products — all are gentle enough for Rosacea-prone skin. I was very impressed that she didn’t try to hawk

I guffawed.
