I'll never forget my first visit to Cannes. As we strolled along the croisette, gazing down at the naked breasts on the beach, we passed a table of American Mormon missionaries, firmly planted with their backs to beach. I couldn't help but wonder how often they snuck a peek...

@redxmagnum: This explains so much! I find I need to pluck mine (3 on one boob, 1 on the other) only about once a month! Wow!

@KatrinaBullfinch: The only thing subscription and newsstand sales do is boost the amount of eyeballs looking at the mag and thus boost the amount the mag can charge for advertising. They could give them away and the $$ lost wouldn't much affect the bottom line. It's ALL ad revenue.

@Penny: Right? Is this the year 2000? Charlize Theron? I didn't even realize she had a new movie coming out.

@portia_sue: I have high hopes for some boat-floating when the new Dan Brown comes out in September.

@shewar: Exactly. My insurance doesn't cover any "adult immunizations" and I was at the top of the age range, so I said forget it.

It depresses me to no end that (according to USA Today), the Twilight series made up something like 16% of all books sold in 2008. I can only hope those readers, while shopping, might have bought other books, thus floating the boat of the whole industry (in the way that Harry Potter releases were supposed to have

@amandarp: That was my biggest problem with Match. You can only specify "within 10 miles" or more. I kept getting matched with people from like, Westchester and Jersey City. Meanwhile, I won't even date someone who lives on the 6 line.

@sybann: Yeah, I got called Crazy Bitch after trying to gently explain to a guy that sending me a "kiss" before even emailing me was a bit creepy.

The only thing proven here, dude, is that you love to hear yourself talk.

@ediebeale: That guy looks remarkably like my cousin's husband. Yikes is right!

@TheGintheCity: I should qualify my comment by saying that my childhood cat had to be shaved a few times when she was older and couldn't clean the mats out of her fur, but we kept her hidden when foreign dignitaries came to visit!

Is...is that cat SHAVED? Oh I am not even GOING there.

Wow, what a striking memorial.

Talk about "brain melting cuteness"!

@missnicolec: This reminds of me of a This American Life from last month. This family adopted a little girl from Samoa through an agency... what they didn't know was that the girl's family thought she was being brought to the US just to get an education and then she'd be returned to them.

@wtfox?!: I know, right!? Is it the Rapture? Did you guys forget to tell me?
