@TheGintheCity: Oh and also, I think what makes all my guy friends amazing is that they wouldn't hesitate to beat someone up, loan me money, or rescue me if I needed help.

My best friend is getting married in a few weeks. Her wedding party consists of her sister (maid of honor), me, and our former roommate and close friend—a guy—who is straight, married, and is one of her exes.

I don't give a tinker's damn for tradition, but my dad will definitely be walking me down the aisle, because I love him and it will feel special. I won't have a "wedding party" so I want my mom and brother to walk in together in front of us.

Oh I cannot wait for the Gossip Girl "White Party" episode!! Hijinx are certain to ensue.

Isn't it more important to be healthy? I don't have a problem with the 10 year old who works out 45 minutes per day — every kid should be doing that — it's why there's gym class.

Oh ho ho Lizzie... soon I will be able to discover your true identity...

After the final go round in my "Year of Weddings" (the last bridesmaid dress will be worn July 25), I am bobbing my hair.

Remember Anne of Green Gables? She told Gilbert all she wanted was a little circlet of pearls.

Oooh, I disagree about Natalia and Justin Portman — they are darling! I've seen them out and about in NYC with their kids and they seem normal and happy. Also, he's only 34 or 35 now — and she's 26. Not so creepy.

We were talking about varicose veins earlier on Jez today? Yeah, those can be hideously painful, and cause blood clots and the like — not always, but sometimes — but apparently not often enough as insurance won't pay for my mom to have them fixed. Luckily both she and my grandma have been able to afford it, but still.

Oof this is such a tricky subject. I'd suggest everyone read Orhan Pamuk's Snow. It was the gateway to my (still extremely limited) comprehension of Islamic fundamentalism, and really really made me question my assumptions/prejudices about the way women are treated by some branches of Islam (or in the case of some of

I do love that she has not succumbed to the Rachel Zoe "orange skin/weighed down by necklaces/frazzled hair" starlet look.

@Maritsa: I was at Vassar at the same time as Ann(i)e Hathaway as she called herself then. Everyone would have known if there was any lady-lovin'.

There was way too much Brody Jenner amongst those links. Really, People?

I always thought heredity had something to do with it. My mom was 11 when she got her period and I had just turned 12 when I got mine.

Last night I was staring at the pile of magazines on my kitchen counter and realized that EVERY SINGLE ONE had Angelina on the cover. ALL FIVE.

@rosasparks: Thirded, and again to add... my Mom.

@KittenFluff: This article made me want to ralphski:

I was all, "why the HELL are they all wearing Leger?"

@CHOCOLATECOFFEEBEANS: Ok, it took me FOREVER to get that. Huh. That is a weird way to name your children.
