I’m one of the guys who has dabbled in your area, the hardware area, and now is in incident management. It’s my job to take my experience from all these areas, and work with you folk to build in redundancies to prevent the softpocalypse (while also handling major incidents).
I wouldn’t say that. I’ve seen just as many arrogant, self-righteous Android users tossing stones at Microsoft without the slightest clue of how it all works.
Push the vendor to actually fix the issue. Suggesting that people just wipe everything and start over is an insanely stupid idea.

That’s a really broad and totally inaccurate statement. Every smartphone has different hardware, firmware, and software. There is no common point across all smartphones.
