Why should he be in jail, though? Forced to apologize? Sure. Fined? Most probably. But prison time? That's way out of proportion for the crime. And I'd say the same if he was homeless and destitude.

What did you expect from a scientologist?
lol, i don’t think it’s “petty” to press charges against some lunatic who just runs around slapping the shit out of random people!
To be fair, Chris Rock declined to press charges. If I said something stupid or insensitive (or even if I didn’t!) and a friend of mine, or even an acquaintance, slapped me in the face for it—I don’t think I’d press charges either. Shit, I don’t think I’d press charges if a complete stranger just slapped me in the…
Yeah, I got like five different instances of whiplash from Smith’s behavior, and that was just as scary as the assault. That he could swing so wildly from controlled to raged out to controlled again was scary. Going out to a party afterwards and acting like nothing happened, that’s some psycho shit right there.
“Love makes you do crazy things” - every man who’s ever physically abused a woman.
My takeaway from the last 14 hours is that a large segment of our population thinks that physical violence is the appropriate reaction to a verbal insult
The normalization of this is twisted and insane.
If this is the scandal that ends the Oscars I’m okay with that.
My takeaway from the last 14 hours is that a large segment of our population thinks that physical violence is the appropriate reaction to a verbal insult, and that physical violence at a formal event full of your peers where you hope to win an award is ok. How far we have fallen.
I’m shocked mostly at the low key acceptance of what was literally physical assault on live television. What if he had walked up and smacked Amy or Wanda or Regina in the face like that? Would the Jezebel crowd still be so nonchalant about it? Would it still be considered acceptable?
The joke seems weird coming from him given this guy produced and stared in a documentary about the politics and stigma surrounding Black women’s hair.
Inspired Kitchen Design helped us get it all sorted... well worth it! Good luck with your remodel, B4B!
Viking and Wolf and most of the brands like them are actually garbage. its all about the looks. they dont heat evenly and the temps are all over the place. Shockingly LG is making some of the best appliances right now.
My house is also well over 100 years old and NOTHING is straight. Floors, walls, doors, trims, etc. It’s a fucking nightmare trying to do anything.
RE countertops. Several years ago (maybe 13-14 actually) we purchased a butcherblock counter top from Ikea and it was an exceptional deal (I can’t remember how much but it was probably half of what I thought it would be). We bought the thickest oak option they sold then. We used it to replace an old counter in our old…
Better live in a very temperate area or energy costs will eat your lunch.
If\when I remodel, I want to do something like this. She says it cost under $3000. I tried to set the link below to the kitchen portion of the vid.
One thing you left off the list of items under “sweat equity” to take into account is demolition and hauling off of your old kitchen cabinets, counter, etc. As much as the reno shows make that seem like fun, it’s hard work and you’ll need to plan a way to get all the old stuff out and disposed of.
2 years ago I did an Ikea kitchen. and our kitchen is on the larger side. No idea where the “10 cabinets in 8 hours” number came from in the article, but I hope no one is actually that slow. This article is mostly right, though - I’m a DIYer and the kitchen was a BIG project. Totally agree with EvilMonkey about the…
