Sorry, but I guess with facebook privacy violations, hackers and people with big mouths, I really don't want to take the chance of my profile becoming public or being connected to my name. It is real terror that I feel and the fact that I was willing to use these sites under a fake name is a big step towards having a

This is a shame. I am the only person on the internet with my name so far. I have an evil abusive ex that has broken bones in my body and is still a true threat to me. I have changed friends and moved into hiding and use a fake name online to keep hidden but still enjoy the wonders of the interwebs and use social

Ever so once in a while Windows will say that you cannot eject the external drive even after you've closed all applications. Haven't tried this yet, but hoping this helps solve that problem so I no longer have to reboot when this happens to me.

These pretzels are making me thirsty.

Thanks. I responded before I had a chance to watch it (you did warn it was long!)

The reason people in higher latitudes get more skin cancer is because they were/are in an area that the ozone layer was depleted, but it is growing back now. (See my reply to tuesday) Even though only those in the far north or south should still take precautions (which could easily be using common sense for spending

Yes. I forgot about that. the ozone layer was depleting because of the CFCs, but since the banning of CFCs, it has been growing back back since the end of the 1990s. It will take several more decades to get back to pre-CFC days, but as it stands now, this depletion only really affected the most northern areas.

The sunscreen scare didn't start until the mid 1990s. People lived pretty much as long then as they do now - give or take a tenth of year. Before then, everyone oiled their bodies for a nice, dark leathery look.

They use a different way in measuring percentage of alcohol in beer in the USA vs elsewhere, so yes Canadian et al beer is stronger. (US by weight, elsewhere by volume)

Exactly. One could actually cause themselves damage from a cheap massage, so you should always seek a registered massage therapist. Massage Therapists get a lot of training and the profession is regulated for a reason.

heh. the absence of "from" as in "it leapfrogged from 5.1% to a whopping 38.1%." made me read it the way it was intended. When I saw your comment, I read it over several times and couldn't see what you saw. Thanks for explaining and I can see how that can be the interpretation.

That is what it already says.

Google is #3 is you search "search" on Bing.

Yes we would still hear people complain if making $20+ an hour. My ex is a career waiter. On bad days he would make $80 in tips in a shift. On most days, he would come home with $300+ in tips and that isn't even the good days. Yet, he bitched all.the.time. I will admit that it made me angry at the time as I spent a

Except the US government thinks their laws applies to the rest of the world, too. [torrentfreak.com]

It is a hard way to learn such a valuable lesson

If that "Start" thing is always there and no way to customize it, I don't know.... That was the most annoying thing I found with Window's 95 where it had that stupid bouncing "Start here" arrow bouncing against the icon.

There was a tip on here long long ago to use the barf bag to hold your ipod/iphone. Just tear a rectangle window and place your ipod in it and hang it off of the seat tray in front of you (while it is in its upright position.)

I think it has to do with a couple of things. Back then people had one phone in the house so they needed more time to travel to answer it, it was more of a novelty/excitement to use the phone, and they didn't have the option to check the answering machine for missed calls. Nowadays we have voicemail, cordless phones,

I wonder why they even scripted it that way; it would have been easier to just call it what it is "zero"
