The only thing I’d suggest is that this line doesn’t strike me as correct: “Their first instinct was to react with fear...”.  I think rather, their first reaction was to act like they were in charge and that the person they were talking to was not their equal.

Hun, she didn’t wrongly think she knew the owners. She was consciously lying as a flex to put a person of color in his place, never dreaming for a minute that she was speaking to the owner himself.

Can we take a moment to talk about dog park Karen’s “apology.” She knew what she was doing. Her excuse that she didn’t makes me hate her more. She doubled down, in her apology she’s trying to make herself the victim again. She’s earned everything that has come her way. And I’m tired of them bringing out out the tired

I wouldn’t have been surprised if Ted was the type of guy to do the “HOLD ME BACK, BRO!” trick, but it’s a whole new level of pathetic to change it to “HOLD HIM BACK, BRO!” for Gym fucking Jordan.

Imagine being so secure in your job and so protected from the consequences of your poor performance that your employer will hire a consultant to work with you just so you can achieve minimal competence at the thing they hired you to do

Every time I see that picture I think about how terrified her mother must have been, to let her go into a world where people hated her for one thing-her skin color. And yet she dressed her in her best dress and her new shoes and did her hair up-that is powerful. That is dignity.

“These views and actions do not represent ABC News’s values. We just hired her, supported her, and protected her from the numerous complaints.”

I can’t get over how...... not that old Ruby Bridges is. This just happened.

Bear with me here... can I request that Jez start doing profiles of non-problematic female CEOs/execs as well? I know that people like Sophia Amorouso, Tyler Haney, Miki Agrawal, Christene Barberich, Audrey Gelman, et al are independently controversial but we could all benefit from a more positive brand of feminism. Yeah, I *loved* her as Aunt May, precisely because Peter’s guardians had always been portrayed as kindly, somewhat clueless geriatrics. Tomei’s Aunt May is such a great counterpart for this reading of Spider Man, which is so much more true to the comics. Holland was actually a teenager when he was cast (19), as

NASCAR will still wave the Confederate flag to signal the start of the last lap though, as is tradition.

Yeeeeeeeeah, I didn’t wanna be the one to point that out, but...

NASCAR driver Ray Ciccarelli, who’s so incensed by this politically correct bullshit that he’s taking his bigoted ball and going home.

I didn’t know they weren’t the same person until your comment.

They read it. They just think like he does. This was meant for other people like them who think using auteur theory to dissect the video of a man being murdered is profound instead of being yet another symbol of detached apathy.

Bloody hell. I mean, he’s not totally wrong - it’s one of the most important videos ever taken, and her commitment, stoicism and bravery should be noted - but to ‘review’ it as though he’s writing for Film International is just...

Damn.

Candace Owens is that girl from the 70's that tried so hard to hang with the white girls, but for some reason was always free on Fridays nights when the white girls had their sleepovers. And now it’s about to be Friday night every night, Candace.

That Crown Royal dress is amazing.
