What’s interesting is we’re a tech company. Well funded and well out of startup mode. Profitable and growing in our field. The founders are genuinely decent people and treat the employees like adults and family. It’s spectacular. My wife keeps telling me I hit the job lottery and I cannot disagree with her.

Unfortunately we’ve created a workworkwork at all costs culture where you will be grumbled about or worse for taking time off to get better. So we can’t really get mad at those people who don’t take sick time. It sucks but they’ve got a family to feed. I get it.
