This is why, if your kid tells you, “hey, somebody is touching me in a way that doesn’t feel right,” you fucking get them help. You don’t ignore it and pretend she never said it, hoping it will got away. It’s NOT GOING TO GO AWAY. It will fester into low self-esteem and manifest itself in all kinds of self-destructive

It’s also funny, because the evidence that they’re using to support “They’re not that close” is a) her mom won’t up and move to a new country just because her daughter did, and b) her mom only came to visit her once or twice a year when she was working in Canada. Those both seem ... very normal even for close

Docked points for failure to mention Avery Brooks.

I’d like to think that grown-ass Ryan Gosling did not give a shit about the bet, but that might be wishful thinking brought about by ~5 million ‘hey girl’ memes.

JT is a total CHODE. And way to go Jessica Simpson for refusing to be treated like a bullshit “prize” in a literally adolescent display of toxic masculinity by two grown-ass men.  I’m so glad Britney didn’t end up with him.  No woman deserves to be married to that.  (lookin’ at you, Biel)

That’s fucking terrible, and shame on his employer! That said, healthcare should not be tied to employment.

I’ve certainly never been able to afford COBRA when leaving a job. Even when I had a good savings cushion, I needed that money for the transition and emergencies. I couldn’t afford to tap into it for the ridiculous amount of money COBRA was asking.

So I had to look this guy up (“author” is thrown around a lot). He is a health insurance lobbyist who writes for The Federalist, Ben Domenech’s* online right-wing rag.

And just to add, this was for one person. I’m sure it would be much more expensive for a family.

LOL at “a few grand at most.” My last job transition where I needed COBRA I got a quote of $1,300 a month! That would have been $3,900 for three months, not including other healthcare costs like copays and deductibles. This was 2012, and health insurance as obviously only skyrocketed since then. I was luckily in a

My son works 50+ hours a week in a salaried position. His employer does not offer health insurance coverage because it’s cheaper for them to just pay the penalties.

I was on the phone with my wife when she got rear-ended. I heard the crash, her yell, and then the phone went dead. She was ok and called me back a few minutes later to let me know what happened, but those few minutes were hell.

Three words: Earth, Wind, and Fire.

The fact that Kinja is happy to suggest things to me is not in question. That Kinja is happy to call them VSB articles - which I can confirm are Grapevine by hovering over the links - is misleading at best and kinda weird at worst.

To clarify: Suggested stories are from The Root at large. VSB, being part of The Root, automatically populates recommended stories that aren’t only exclusive to VSB, but part of the parent platform (as all of the above are). This is the first time VSB has written about this issue.

Those kinds of moments are bonkers. Having been to both of those movies, it is not as awful as the initial news turning out to be true, but the hard crash followed by relief is it’s own sort of hellish rollercoaster that leaves you in pieces.

I don’t like Ross as a character, but Schwimmer’s performance (specifically his physical comedy abilities and his overall comedic timing) was fantastic. That’s something I’ve appreciated more on repeat viewings.

I liked Ross at the time the show was on. Then I re-watched many years later and found his character was pretty mean and controlling, especially to Rachel about her job and interests. You think fashion is stupid. Fine. Don't be a smug dick about it though.

I’m not a fan of Friends, so all I know about this is that the audience actually heckled/booed Lauren Tom during tapings because Julie was in the way of the Rachel/Ross pairing, and that sounds awful. Fans are the worst.
