I have this same issue with movies, and the most egregious one for me is I Am Legend, the vampire movie with Will Smith.

What they did with the Golden State Killer is exactly what they want to do to solve other crimes. The databases that allow the cops in without a warrant are smaller than Ancestry and 23AndMe. I wonder what rationale the warrant was granted on? The suspect’s relatives may have uploaded their DNA so there may be a match?
