Some of the contestants have started doing this. The contestants sit in the audience to watch the taping, and if you’re not chosen for that particular do you come back the next day.  So some contestants can watch James in multiple games and see his strategy.  

There are also Jeopardy “tells” where you  know if they mention a Scottish poet, it’s Robbie Burns and other similar answers.  So if you watch a lot of Jeopardy you can learn the patterns and that can help narrow it down as well.
