Telling someone who is trying to build or rebuild credit to take out a loan and pay interest is bad advice.  Like someone said above, getting a small revolving credit account and paying it off each month is much better.

I wouldn’t let concerns about your credit score going down keep you from paying off debt. It’s crazy to keep date (and paying interest) to “protect” your credit score. I do agree that it may make sense to keep a revolving account open even if you don’t use it or only use it sporadically.

Abuse is illegal, and some of the victims (survivors) talked about the physical abuse they experienced.  I don’t remember the timelines on everything, but maybe the statute of limitations is already over.  There has to be something they can get this guy on!
