I think you just need to start the program in offline mode once while connected to the internet and then you can start Steam in offline mode without the internet. Its weird, but I think it has something to do with validating your ownership over all those games.

While my time with the game wasnt extensive, I really enjoyed what I played. I didnt have any of the issues Luke is talking about, but then again The Old Republic isnt my first MMO.

I think the game is pretty hardware heavy - I have a GTX 570 and Im running it at its highest settings (albeit at 1680x1050) without a problem. I do I have a 2600k @ 4.5Ghz though, which I imagine helps.
